Third Trimester

How far along? 28 weeks. Third trimester!

Total weight gain/loss: 12 - 13 lbs

Maternity clothes? Oh yes. The stomach and baby are growing by the day.

Sleep: I'm able to sleep but am woken by Cole kicks.

Best moment this week: Picking a pediatrician. This was really stressful, until we met Dr. Howard. He's very kind and patient and I feel like I can trust him. Reed and I also had a great trip to the coast for the 4th of July.

Best moment last week: It's a tie between eating the beautiful fruit from the farmers market and my first trip to Gordoughs. I posted a picture of the donuts my mom, dad and I shared at Gordoughs. Super indulgent and heavenly. Notice how both of these are centered around food...

Movement: When I lay on my side, he moves to the side of my belly and starts kicking. At first I was afraid I was going to squish him, but now it is sort of like me and Cole are cuddling.

Gender: Boy.

Labor Signs: I started experiencing Braxton Hicks when I work out. My entire stomach hardens. At first I just thought I was very effective in my workouts. My doctor says that it is normal and it's my body preparing for the baby's birth :)

Belly Button in or out? I've lost this battle. Out.

What I miss: Shopping for regular (not maternity) clothes, my weight not being a topic of conversation (even as a compliment), and a cold turkey sandwich.

What I am looking forward to: Wearing my clothes again!

Weekly Wisdom: Oh so much wisdom to share! Haha. Naps are wonderful. Pillows have never been more important. I find my self waking up surrounded by at least 3 pillows and not my sweet husband - sorry honey!

My Little Ninja

How far along? 26 weeks

Total weight gain/loss: 11 - 12 lbs

Maternity clothes? I'm only able to fit into a few of my pre-maternity clothes. Since it's summer and I'm not teaching, my wardrobe consists of mostly tank tops, shorts, and other comfortable clothes. I did buy my first romper on Saturday and I think I'm on to something...

Sleep: Overall, I'm pretty sure that he's not getting to much sleep, and neither am I! He's quite the kicker. Maybe he's gonna be a soccer player? :) Or punter? Reed was a punter in high school so that could make sense... Either way, the sweet little flutters have turned into huge jolts.

Best moment this week: Getting the letters hung up in the nursery. They look so great thanks to my mother-in-law! She's quite crafty. Reed and I are lucky that both of our moms are crafty and excited about baby Cole. Our nursery is definitely benefitting from their talents!!

Movement: Along with his round house kicks, he started pushing up on the right side of my belly. Enough to where you can see and feel a big lump - either a head or his rear. It's amazing and a little freaky at the same time.

Gender: Boy. All boy...

Labor Signs: No, thank goodness!

Belly Button in or out? If I lay down, I can get my belly button to lay flat.

What I miss: My belly button, and somewhat flat stomach. Not to mention, being free of back pain. I've been lucky to have very few back issues throughout my life, but as I type I'm sitting on a heating pad.

What I am looking forward to: A glass of wine before bed. Or maybe a Blue Moon. At PF Changs the other night, Reed caught me (almost) drooling while watching the waiter pour the Blue Moon into a frosty mug. Uh oh, I'm about to drool now. Better move on :)

Weekly Wisdom: When temperatures reach 104, there is nothing better than a snow cone. This week's flavor was grape. Yum!!

Here's a picture of our incredibly comfortable glider - thanks Kate!! It has newly been re-covered - thanks Amy!! The color is really more green than yellow.

Our crib (again our thanks Amy and Gary!!) and adorable bedding (thanks mom!!) Not to mention the new paint job and floors - great job Reed!!
